CHIIKAWA DAYS Taipei
Translating complex client designs and directing multi-trade executions over an intensive 3-week build window to deploy a 16-zone immersive exhibition across Huashan’s historic quadripartite warehouses for a 3-month feature run.
Exhibition Design Assistant · Spatial Execution
Industrial design precision grounded in corporate marketing context. Specializing in technical drafting, spatial layout feasibility, dimension verification, and hands-on site supervision across Taipei and Tokyo.
01WHAT I BRING
Most projects require multiple specialized hands. I combine industrial design rigor with spatial narrative to make visual concepts buildable.
Floor plan design, 3D concept visualization, and interactive flow layout — turning initial creative briefs into immersive physical spaces.
Leveraging an industrial design background for material selection, drafting fabrication drawings, and structural feasibility checks for exhibition setups.
Translating core brand messages into spatial touchpoints, sensory elements, and engaging visitor journeys.
Assisting in vendor communication, material sourcing, timeline tracking, and hands-on support during on-site installation and setup.
02 Selected Work
Every project below contains real-world constraints, documented decision matrices, and measurable outcomes — not curated renders of a perfect world.
Translating complex client designs and directing multi-trade executions over an intensive 3-week build window to deploy a 16-zone immersive exhibition across Huashan’s historic quadripartite warehouses for a 3-month feature run.
Translated principal spatial concepts into standardized technical documentation, multi-trade vendor coordination, and precision physical execution for Taiwan's premier cycling industry exhibition.
Engineering a high-performance material showcase for Sto Global’s interior eco-coatings using AI-assisted Vibe Coding workflows to modernize architectural B2B engagement.
Explored a decoupled spatial sanctuary concept inside a simulated high-noise commercial layout (+65dB). Modeled acoustic wood diffusion and floating floor isolation to test reverberation decay feasibility.
Engineered a conceptual micro-living capsule pavilion prototype. Tested layout feasibility, passive airflow venting, and low-overhead acoustics within a 45m² footprint using modular aluminum framing.
TECHNICAL DRAFTING & SITE CONSTRAINTS
Converting complex IP and principal design concepts into standardized CAD shop drawings. Resolving structural tolerances, panel seam alignments, and historical venue constraints prior to site handover.
FIELD EXECUTION & QUALITY CONTROL
Directing parallel workflows across carpenters, metal fabricators, electricians, graphic installers, and AV technicians. Conducting hands-on dimension verification, surface finishing checks, and fixture mounting specs during tight setup windows.
MATERIAL LOGIC & SPECIFICATION
Leveraging industrial design logic to audit tactile material feasibility (coatings, laminates, print substrates). Standardizing technical product specifications and color palettes into structured digital reference catalogs for B2B stakeholders.
Testing a hybrid workflow where generative AI rapidly generates preliminary floor plan options, followed by hands-on spatial verification (egress clearance, flow optimization) and precision CAD drafting.
Developing an organized material reference framework mapping physical surface properties, installation speeds, reusability factors, and cost indices. Used internally to streamline client material choices and trade coordination.
03 About
I am TJ Yang, an Exhibition Design Assistant with a background in Industrial Design from Chaoyang University of Technology and international study exchange experience at Shibaura Institute of Technology in Tokyo. Having previously managed digital marketing at Sto Global, I bridge client communication with practical spatial execution—translating initial brand briefs into precise 3D models, technical CAD drawings, and seamless on-site trade coordination.
"A successful exhibition layout relies on millimeter precision in drafting and rigorous on-site supervision. True spatial design exists where design intent meets constructability."
04 Connect
Precision briefs only. If you're solving a spatial problem that involves real constraints, real budgets, and a brand reputation worth protecting — this is the right conversation.
