CHIIKAWA DAYS Taipei
Translating complex client designs and directing multi-trade executions over an intensive 3-week build window to deploy a 16-zone immersive exhibition across Huashan’s historic quadripartite warehouses for a 3-month feature run.
Exhibition Designer · Staging Coordinator
Industrial design precision fused with marketing strategy authority. I engineer spatial installations that convert square meters into brand equity — from Tokyo to Taipei, physical to digital, and back.
01WHAT I BRING
Most projects require multiple specialized hands. I combine industrial design rigor with spatial narrative to make visual concepts buildable.
Floor plan design, 3D concept visualization, and interactive flow layout — turning initial creative briefs into immersive physical spaces.
Leveraging an industrial design background for material selection, drafting fabrication drawings, and structural feasibility checks for exhibition setups.
Translating core brand messages into spatial touchpoints, sensory elements, and engaging visitor journeys.
Assisting in vendor communication, material sourcing, timeline tracking, and hands-on support during on-site installation and setup.
02 Selected Work
Every project below contains real-world constraints, documented decision matrices, and measurable outcomes — not curated renders of a perfect world.
Translating complex client designs and directing multi-trade executions over an intensive 3-week build window to deploy a 16-zone immersive exhibition across Huashan’s historic quadripartite warehouses for a 3-month feature run.
Translated principal spatial concepts into standardized technical documentation, multi-trade vendor coordination, and precision physical execution for Taiwan's premier cycling industry exhibition.
Engineering a high-performance material showcase for Sto Global’s interior eco-coatings using AI-assisted Vibe Coding workflows to modernize architectural B2B engagement.
Designed a decoupled spatial sanctuary inside a noisy commercial hub. Solved extreme ambient noise leakage (+65dB) and severe reverb flutter through modular, algorithmically routed acoustic wood diffusion.
Engineered a fully self-contained, zero-emission phygital micro-living capsule pavilion. Solved severe airflow limitations and low-overhead acoustics within a 45m² footprint using modular aluminum framing and dynamic localized sound staging.
F&B Brand · Pop-Up
Rapid 5-day deployment of a premium coffee brand's traveling pop-up across 3 Taipei MRT atrium locations. Each iteration adapted to radically different ceiling heights, foot traffic patterns, and power grid constraints.
Fashion Brand · Flagship
Seasonal flagship window concept for a Taiwanese fashion brand — six consecutive seasonal installations across one year. Developed a reusable modular structural language that cut per-season production cost by 40%.
Medical Brand · Conference
Exhibition stand for a medical device brand at a Tier-1 international conference. Navigated strict TFDA compliance requirements for product display, managed bilingual content architecture, and achieved a 22% increase in qualified booth leads vs. prior year.
Testing a hybrid workflow where generative AI proposes initial floor plan configurations (egress compliance, flow optimization) and a human design director applies material, brand, and sensory judgment to the output. Current accuracy on constraint satisfaction: 73%.
Developing a proprietary data sheet format that maps material choices against 5 axes: install speed, ESG weight, cost index, reusability factor, and tactile luxury score. Used internally across all Tier 1 project briefs.
03 About
I'm TJ Yang — a Brand Experience Strategist operating at the exact intersection where spatial design meets commercial strategy. My background in industrial design gave me a non-negotiable standard for engineering precision, material honesty, and structural logic. My marketing specialization transformed that into a single, unfair competitive advantage: I can read a brand brief, calculate a space plan, and close a business case — in the same meeting.
"Space is the most expensive media channel a brand will ever buy. I make sure every square meter earns its cost — with evidence."
04 Connect
Precision briefs only. If you're solving a spatial problem that involves real constraints, real budgets, and a brand reputation worth protecting — this is the right conversation.
